Athens makes an immediate impact upon arrival to the TVC Ohio by winning league titles in 7 out of the 12 league sports. In addition to preventing Meigs from winning the TVC All-Sports Trophy, Athens introduction to the league prevented the following teams from winning a league championship:

Golf - Belpre
Boys Cross Country - Wellston
Girls Cross Country - Meigs
Wrestling - Nelsonville-York
Baseball - Wellston
Boys Track & Field - Meigs
Girls Track & Field - Belpre

League analysis -

I have broken down each schools strengths and weaknesses for the year. Here is how I decided to do this… Strengths are those programs that finished either first or second in the league. Average are those programs that finsished in third, fourth or fifth in the league. Weaknesses are those programs that finished in sixth or seventh in the league. Only league games are included in this analysis!!!

Also glad to see this info. I have never understood why the TVC doesn’t release this stuff in a timely manner, if ever. Why have it if not to tout your conference and its leaders.

Winter Sports - 3- Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, and Wrestling.

Yes, they do and that should not surprise anyone.

They field full teams in every sport and this will give them an advantage over all the smaller schools which do not field full teams in alot of the sports, just as girls cross country and wrestling, so these points will add up for them.

I am not complaining, just stating a simple fact.

The problem for Athens is that the sports that they are strong in ie: tennis and soccer do not count towards this but I think tennis will be offered at more TVC schools in the future and wont really impact fall sports.
