Adding Suarez will help and if the starting pitching stays healthy, they may again challenge for a wild card playoff spot. That’s the beauty of baseball. Hope springs eternal .
Reds should be a much better team.
With the addition of Suarez, the Reds should be better, but baseball does not operate in a vacuum.
Chicago has added major talent to its 92 win roster from last season. Pittsburgh made massive upgrades to their roster through free agency and their robust farm system. Milwaukee is just a well run organization that performs better than its talent level.
So that leaves Cincinnati likely again around .500 ball club despite having a better roster than they did in 2025. No peaks, no valleys for the organization . 82 wins is a successful season in the eyes of Reds ownership.

That’s the beauty of spring training. Everyone is 0-0 and has pennant hopes going into opening the day. I hope the Reds can jump to 90-92 wins and legitimately earn a playoff spot and actually win a post season game.

Speculation is that Greene may be lost for first half of season, yet nothing confirmed as to surgery or treatment options. At least the Reds have depth with Lowder and Ashcraft.
