Law Co Relay for Life starts today

Be sure and come out and visit. It kicks off with the survivor dinner @ 5 and 1st lap starts @ 6 at the Ironton High School track. We have 19 teams and each tent is selling food such as Pizza, funnel Cakes, Chili, Chips and Cheese, hot dogs… and ther are inflatables for the kids as well as entertainment by the Ihs Choir and Sheldon Creek. Money raised stays in Lawrence Co to support cancer patients. Also Luminary Service is around 9 pm and luminaries are still availbale for 10.00 in memory or honor of a loved one that has fought cancer.

Good Luck. I hope you have a good turn out and raise lots of money. Ours isn’t until August, but we have been busy raising money for months.

Our team works all year also. This year our team reached diamond level by raising 27,000.00 for relay! We are very proud! Last year we raised 16,000.00 as a first year team and our goal this year was just to raise that much again, with the economy and things, but we exceeded our goal! Lawrence co as a whole raised 105,000.00 this year. THANK YOU!!!to everyone who worked and supported us with donations! :-D

Just goes to prove when the cause is right and people work their tails off, you can raise the money. Great job to your team and i hope we can see this thing get whipped in the near future.

That is my dream to see this horrible illness stopped. Cancer tears up so many lives, hopes and dreams, but in the end we will win the battle. I always say, that last 5.00 may be what we need for the cure…

Is your team a business, family, church, or organization team? Thats a lot of money. Our team which is just a family team has one or two fundraisers a month and we have gotten silver four years in a row but can’t quite make it to the gold level. Maybe this year because we already have turned in enough for the silver. and still have 2 and 1/2 months to go.

I think it is wonderful what you are doing now. Maybe expand from the family, to a "neighborhood" group? That may get you some extra energy and get you to the next level. Regardless, kudos and continue to fight on!

As I was making my rounds around the track with my girl friend Amanda, I spotted Paul Crew, Mrs Crew and Lilly Crew heading out the gate. Sure hope Lilly had one of those great funnel cakes the McCauley bunch was putting out under their tent. And speaking of groceries, there was a good variety to meet anyone’s taste bud…

I think the OBDTF should sponsor a tent next year, the only thing is we wouldnt be able to stay open after 7 as that is when most of us are taking our evening nap before bedtime…

A special thanks goes out to all involved in putting this event on for such a great cause…
